Finding The Light

Genesis 1:3 Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light.
Revelation 21:23 And the city has no need of the sun or of the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God has illumined it, and its lamp is the Lamb.

When the sun is shining and you turn toward it, even with your eyes closed, you know its there. You can see the light through your eyelids, (quite diminished, but there). It penetrates through the darkness like nothing else can.

We are called to be the light for the world in such a way as there is no doubt you follow Jesus. Be so bright that the spiritually blind world will know, you have something wonderful, and they will want what you have.

Sometimes we need darkness to help us appreciate the light. Deep darkness makes us appear even brighter. Our light shining brightly, depends on being filled with the oil of His Holy Spirit.

1 John 1:5 This is the message we have heard from Him and announce to you, that God is Light, and in Him there is no darkness at all. NAS
Ephesians 5:8, 9 for you were formerly darkness, but now you are the Light in the Lord; walk as children of light. (for the fruit of the Light consists in all goodness and righteousness and truth) NAS

Romans 15:13 Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you will abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. NASB

Matthew 5:16 Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven. NAS
